Hamid T
I am an executive coach with over 15 years of experience across private, public and third sector, including financial, retail, education, NHS, luxury retail, over a dozen UK government departments, major consultants and FinTech. My clients range from first line-managers to Directors, C-suite and partners of major organisations.
Experience
My career started as a civil engineer working on designing, building and managing large infrastructure projects. I have worked for contractors, consultants, and had my own engineering consultancy specialising in design and assessment of bridges. I found my passion for coaching whilst researching for my MBA dissertation in 2004 on key enablers for knowledge transfer from management consultants to clients, which was pointing to the importance of communication and interpersonal skills. This led me to train as an NLP Business Practitioner and then complete a Masters in Professional Coaching Practice accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) at EQA Master Practitioner level and then gaining an MA in executive coaching in 2012.
Clients describe their experience of my coaching as having a dialogue with someone they trust about issues of significance to them, where my questions support them to find new perspective and ways of achieving the outcomes they were seeking. My broad experience of private and public sectors has involved working with senior leaders, including Ministers, and has provided me with a strong appreciation of the leadership challenges individuals face in complex, ambiguous and fast-moving environments.
Expertise
Typical topics that clients explore with me mostly centres around: their leadership brand, executive presence and impact, transitioning to a new role or sector, dealing with conflict, confidence and overcoming imposter phenomenon, values and purpose, identity and legacy, work-life balance, resilience, transitioning to a new phase in life, gaining insight into their blind side and self-sabotaging patterns.
In addition to one-to-one coaching, I also deliver team & group coaching, facilitation, individual & group supervision of coaches.
I am a faculty member of one of the UK’s leading coach training organisation, i-coach academy, where I work with students to develop their coaching practice.
Coaching style
My style is flexible to meet the needs of individual clients and work in the moment to support them in gaining insights into some of their drivers, what gets in the way of achieving their ambitions, their behaviour patterns and unlearning unhelpful habits, together with learning new ones. It is a generative process where I work with the client to develop a bespoke programme for them. I draw on many coaching models & theories together with ideas from the field of organisation behaviour, leadership development, neuroscience, personality types, group dynamics and system thinking.

Coaching philosophy
My purpose of coaching is to provide a powerful developmental experience for the individual that will generate clear benefits for them and their organisation. I aim to help the client to become more effective, confident and fulfilled in their roles and more successful in meeting their objectives. It is important that the coach supports and challenges the client to stretch and reach their ambitions and although the coaching can only be effective if there is strong connection and trust between the coach and client, there needs to be honest and open conversations that raise client’s awareness and open up possibilities that may not have been available to them.
