Experience

Peter has over 30 years’ experience and success at Senior Management level in Operations and General Management. He has spent the last 12 years as a coach, mentor and confidante to ambitious people, including peer group facilitation, coaching and continuous personal development with Vistage International. During this period, he has facilitated over 300 peer group meetings and coached and mentored clients from diverse backgrounds and seniority for over 6000 hours. Peter’s earlier experience has been mainly in manufacturing and distribution and during his career has managed major change and lean programmes and used techniques, which are readily transferable to any sector or size of company. These have included the introduction of continuous improvement cultures, establishing meaningful K.P.I, project management, customer service development and material management systems. Most importantly, throughout his career, have been the development of teams and coaching people to give them confidence to delegate and grow.

Expertise

As a coach and mentor, Peter brings to clients the combined benefits of real life experiences, training in coaching and a genuine desire to help people develop themselves and their businesses. He always use the most appropriate coaching and mentoring techniques – not just a text book approach.  Recognising the need to treat people as individuals, he has a reputation for listening and being able to coach and mentor at all levels of seniority and all company sizes.  He has spent his life in bands and leading them, and this has given him a great insight into what makes individuals and teams tick. He has also worked with charities, volunteers and with families – including his own!  Peter has a special interest in organisational development.

Coaching style

Supporting and challenging, Peter’s emphasis is always on a sustainable approach, not just a one off initiative. He is strong on accountability and expects clients to arrive prepared and ‘in the room’. Listening is key, understanding them and delving deeply into the causes and effects of their challenges is always more fruitful than proceeding too quickly to solutions.

Qualifications

Peter is a Fellow of the IMechE with success and experience in international manufacturing, he is constantly learning and is an experienced and trained group chair and coach within Vistage International. He has been awarded 3 ‘high performing chair awards’ and he never stops learning.

Coaching philosophy

My aim is to establish confidential and supportive relationships and I believe in working closely with organisations to ensure that I fully understand and am committed to their culture and vision. My work with them always goes further than the regular meetings and in return I expect this to be reciprocated. Ultimately my objective is to help people have confidence to grow and to become best person they want to be, doing what they love doing and then watching them fly.
