Paul W-B

Experience

Paul is an experienced training facilitator as well as a qualified executive coach. Paul has many years of experience in the manufacturing and sales industries having run a number of successful businesses of his own. Paul is a life-long learner and enjoys creating value in people’s lives.  Paul has a very much hands-on down to earth no nonsense approach. Paul believes that although the solutions often lie within the individuals that he coaches he possesses enough practical knowledge to offer some practical applications if necessary. As an ex martial arts instructor Paul also believes that once you obtain a valuable skill it becomes your obligation to pass that skill on for the benefit of others.

Expertise

Paul first began his training and coaching career whilst running his own businesses developing training courses for his sales force and maintaining a constant support mechanism to enable those people to achieve their targets. Paul has helped with numerous coaching interventions including developing and delivering coach the coach courses to HR executives as well as one-to-one coaching for both the BT and Fujitsu Graduate Development Programmes.

Coaching style

Paul firmly believes that enabling an individual to have a greater awareness of themselves is the key to them understanding how other people work and the first step towards integrating themselves in a harmonious working environment where they can not only achieve a real sense of purpose but also actual and real enjoyment in what they do. Paul sets about this by a mixture of applicable psychometric tools as well as building rapport through a series of one-to-one coaching sessions in order to focus the client towards an action plan that is rooted in reality.

Coaching philosophy

Paul believes that we are all a work in progress and that none of us are yet the finished article and it's Paul’s job, as a coach, to find out what it is that a person wants to improve and is looking to go and to help them get there. My philosophy is that I work in partnership with someone on helping to establish realistic goals and to enable them to break those goals down into bite sized chunks so that each step feels, and becomes, a whole lot less daunting and that with help, encouragement and continued support we can achieve far more than we thought possible.

I connected with my coach on our very first call and I believe that made the whole difference for me. I wish I could dig deeper on some of my remaining issues but unfortunately all good things have to end. I will definitely recommend coaching and have been already doing it for while. It definitely changed my life.

Tim has provided some high quality coaching support to me through a time of transition both in terms of job, career and organisational changes. He is a skilled and experienced executive coach who facilitated just the right mix of reflection, future visioning, challenge, compassion and stretch. I’d strongly recommend working with him if you are going through a career or organisation transition. Fun to work with, I always left my sessions with him feeling significantly clearer and more content with my overall direction of travel and next steps.

“I selected my coach on the basis that she had a completely different approach to my structured way of thinking. Katherine challenged me and took me way out of my comfort zone – scary and uncomfortable at times but eye-opening. These coaching sessions enabled me to see things from a very different perspective, gave me the time and space to reflect on my practice and provided practical tips and approaches as to how I can develop my performance.”

Everyone learnt a lot about themselves and others. It was the first training in English that one of my mentors had done and it was really successful for him. We have all come away feeling more confident. I have been on many development programmes and I have to say it has been one of the best I have ever attended.
