Martin Gillespie has worked as a senior director for the past 25 years in the field of learning and development within the construction, electronics, defence, facilities management, consulting and professional services sectors. He has extensive international experience in Europe, Australia, and the Far East.
Since the mid 1990s Martin has specialised in senior executive development, talent management and executive coaching. As Head of Executive Development for the Tarmac Group, he was responsible for the development and succession planning of the top 300 executives in the 26,000 employee group, along with the identification and development of high potentials. Prior to going on his own he worked for Thales, a 70,000 person strong International Electronics group, during which time he worked as the Professional Development and Training Director for the group, based in Paris.
Accredited by Ashridge Business School as an Executive Coach, he has extensive experience of working with key individuals to deliver both personal and organisational growth. Engaging with executives on live business issues, he believes that learning and development is essentially about providing an environment for strategic thinking, reflection and challenge in order to deliver action and change. The key objectives at all times being to facilitate greater clarity, improve performance and deliver organisational goals.
